The short answer is absolutely yes! But it's not your sponsor's game anymore. Let me explain....

About 5 years ago, article marketing was really gaining some authority within some network marketing circles. You could basically write a sub-par article on just about any topic you wanted and with some clever keyword stuffing, clue-less googlers would find and click on your content. Sounds easy right?

Today we should be so lucky. There is no possible way a marketer could choose a highly trafficked keyword, optimize their article with that keyword, and then rank in the search engines. It's just not happening like that anymore. Serious dedication of time and research is required to rank for those "money keywords", yet we're still being told that article marketing is a viable marketing strategy. How effective is article marketing in 2011?

As marketers, we can scour our keyword tools for the new money keywords and get our content back on the first page of the search engines! Right on! Finding keywords with less than 100,000 competing web-pages and 50 daily searches is the goal and is way easier than writing an article that will end up on Page 500 of the search engine results.

Article marketing 2011 strategy #2 Let's talk about backlinking. This is a link where, when clicked, clicks through to your website. You post a link on facebook and it goes to your website, that's a backlink. Post your article on ezines with a link to your website, that's a backlink. The way to use article marketing for backlinking is this: Write and post your article on your blog or website, next take that same article and submit it to an article directory. In your article directory submission you will be allowed 2 links most of the time in your article resource box. Make those links go back to your original post on your blog and that is another backlink. You don't even have to change or "spin" your article, it doesn't matter for backlinks; you can post that bad-boy as many times as you want, to as many directories you want, creating endless opportunities for backlinking. The more backlinks you have, the more relavant your article becomes on the search engines. Does article marketing still work? Backlinking is a PROVEN strategy that shows YES, IT DOES.

These are the nuts and bolts of some strategies that will work, but article marketing is not an overnight solution. It takes massive action to be an effective strategy. Article marketing may take a lot of time but the work you do now will potentially last forever!

So to answer the question, "does article marketing still work?" My answer is a resounding, "YES!"

Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned vet in the MLM industry, you’ve got to hit the ground running with any new opportunity. Here are 8 fast-start tips for your mlm business that will establish a good foundation for your marketing.

1) Establish your target market.....It’s much easier to market your mlm business to a group of people you can identify with. Stand up in your niche and let them know what your about, let them know that you want to help them with their financial goals.

2) Don’t stick to friends and family......For God’s sake pleeease don’t stick your friends and family. There’s a lot of opportunity for business out there you just have to be open to it. I’m not saying to bother people at malls and grocery stores either, just keep your mind open. You’d be amazed at some of the ways my buddies generate leads for their mlm businesses.

3) Choose two new marketing strategies to master.......There are hundreds of different ways out there that can bring new people your way to talk to. But simply trying one or two different things a few times then telling yourself that they don’t work isn’t exactly a recipe for success either. It takes time and practice, then you will see some results. But the point is, is to stick with it until you do see some results. Then fine tune it and and move on to something else. That’s true leverage, when you can have a strategy work for you while you’re out doing what you want to do right?

4) Personal development training.... You’ve got to work on yourself daily. Tell yourself this everyday: “The Top Leaders are Readers and The Top Earners are Learners.” Simply put, if you look at any one who’s made any significant amount of money in this industry, you can be assured that they work on their personal development daily and have the library to back it up.

5) Establish your why...... If the reason you’ve gotten involved in your mlm isn’t big enough, well then I’m sorry to tell you that you’re going to be quitting soon. Maybe you’ll jump from biz-op to biz-op for a while. Maybe you’ll bad-mouth your sponsor for not helping you. I don’t know, but without a reason to keep going when it gets a little tough, what else would you do?

6) Stay consistent....Even if you’re not seeing the results yet. I’m a testament to this because I didn’t see anything for the first two years I was in business but I didn’t slow down. I’m a very busy father of 4 with teenagers and toddlers and I’ve still found the time to build multiple blogs and web-pages. Sure some days are tougher than others to keep pushing on, but i knew the work that I did now will pay off in the long-run, and that’s part of what keeps me consistent.

7) Don’t quit......The only way you will ever fail in this business is if you quit. That might sound cliche but it’s true. The successful ones, they never quit, every single one of them.

8 8) Provide value to prospects..... Hear this now, “People Join People” not MLM’s. It’s like selling ice to Eskimos. It’s easy if they know, like, and trust you. That’s why you build a list and build relationships. That’s why up-lines tell you to go talk to your friends and family. Isn’t there someone in your life that you look up to? Wouldn’t you do or buy what they told you if they said it would help you?

Don’t take these tips for your mlm business lightly. The fact that you are reading this article means that you might be looking for a quick road-map to success. It may seem possible but the reality is that most stories you’ll read about success in this industry, are long stories of struggle and hardships. Most leaders have a solid track record of failing at multiple network marketing opportunities before they found something that truly worked out for them.

But the good news is that it is possible! These tips are simply suggestions. If you even take one of them to heart and implement it tonight it will drastically change your mlm business forever!
